The Masia de Can Cintet, located in Vilassar de Mar and dating back to 1850, is situated on a unique 940 m² plot with an irregular shape that faces two streets. The project consisted of the rehabilitation of this historic building to transform it into a multi-family residence with four housing units, each with a private garden, a shared outdoor area with an open-air swimming pool, and outdoor parking for six vehicles.

The masia, made up of two volumes (one single-story and the other with ground floor and upper floor), has been adapted to the original structure of its bays, preserving the interior floors with traditional ceramic vaulted ceilings and wooden beams with handmade ceramic infill, as well as the roofs, which were fully restored with the replacement of the wooden decking.

This intent to preserve the architectural essence is also reflected in the main facade, which has been restored while maintaining all existing openings and only replacing the woodwork. In contrast, new windows and balcony doors have been opened on the side facades to improve living conditions.

The three dwellings located in the main volume are arranged over two floors, while the one in the annex volume is resolved entirely on the ground floor due to its architectural features. Each unit benefits from a private garden and direct access to the landscaped communal area, encouraging a fluid connection between interior and exterior spaces. One of the homes includes an interior patio that brings natural light and ventilation to the innermost rooms, ensuring a healthy environment.

Due to the impossibility of creating openings on the northwest facade, which borders a neighboring property, it was necessary to design a light well in the central volume to naturally light and ventilate the upper-floor bedrooms.
The homes, ranging from one to two stories depending on the case, combine spacious and bright rooms with practical service areas and bathrooms, ensuring comfort and livability for families of varying sizes.

This project strikes a balance between the preservation of architectural heritage and contemporary needs, offering character-filled homes in a privileged setting with direct connection to the streets and urban life of Vilassar de Mar.
