Detached single-family home in Cabrils

On an almost flat plot in the Ca l’Estrany residential area of Cabrils, this single-family house has been designed to make the most of every space by establishing a direct connection with the outdoors. Attempting to achieve a modern and Mediterranean space, the home, intended as a primary residence for a young family, comfortably addresses vehicular and pedestrian access from the street-facing façade, while opening more intimately towards the rear courtyard, which borders a tree-lined pedestrian walkway.

Externally, the house is organized into two distinct volumes: the main body is a light white-painted brick volume that folds over a lower annex volume with a gray plaster finish, where the rooms for the day and night areas are located, and it also houses the garage with capacity for two vehicles. The ground floor, where the day area rooms are concentrated, and the upper floor, where the night area rooms are located, communicate and are arranged around a double-height central space flooded with natural light coming through a skylight, providing spaciousness and warmth.

The interior spaces extend fluidly towards the exterior, with the same flooring that connects the living room and kitchen with the back garden, as well as the rooms with the terraces on the upper floor, enhancing the interior-exterior relationship and the entry of natural light.

On the ground floor, pedestrian access is from the street through a porch, from where you enter the foyer, the kitchen, the laundry room, a guest bathroom, and then the spacious living-dining area with large windows that open to the rear garden. The staircase connecting to the upper floor starts from the foyer and is clearly visible from the living room, creating a comfortable and connected flow.

On the upper floor, in addition to the study with access to a terrace, there are two single bedrooms, a full bathroom, and the master bedroom with a walk-in closet and private bathroom, all with access to the outside to take advantage of natural light and ventilation.
