In the historic center of Vilassar de Dalt, this terraced single-family house has been renovated. Until recently, it housed a bakery and sits on a 130 m² plot with façades on two streets, one of them featuring a curved corner. The project combines history and functionality through a comprehensive renovation.

The building is distributed over a basement, ground floor, and two upper floors. The ground floor contains the day area, with direct access to the rear patio, which was previously built over and has now been demolished; this area used to house the bakery’s workshop. A pool has been added in this space, creating a pleasant and private outdoor atmosphere and a strong sense of continuity between indoors and outdoors. The upper floors contain the night area, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, while the basement is used as a wine cellar.

The main façade, facing Mestra Viladrosa Street, has been restored to recover the original appearance of the building by removing the commercial storefront and reinstating the original architectural elements. On the rear façade, new windows have been opened to improve natural light and enhance the connection with the patio.

The demolition of the rear volumes has allowed for more open and spacious areas, while a lift platform connects all floors, significantly improving the home’s accessibility.

During the renovation, the building was extended, and original features such as the wooden beam roof and ceramic beam-and-vault ceilings were restored and highlighted. These elements have been integrated with high-efficiency insulation and installations, improving indoor comfort. The result is a home that successfully blends tradition and modernity, fully adapted to 21st-century living.
