Located in Platges de Fornells, Menorca, this apartment forms part of a residential development built during the 1980s on the eastern side of Cala Tirant, conceived according to the characteristic features of traditional Menorcan architecture.
The renovation of the apartment has aimed primarily to preserve and enhance its original traditional elements, while updating the interior to meet contemporary needs. The intervention seeks to create a brighter, more spacious, functional and contemporary environment, designed for holiday rental while retaining the original character of the home.
The proposal preserves some of the most representative elements of traditional Menorcan architecture, such as the predominance of white, wooden louvered shutters, traditional Menorcan doors and hardware, as well as mullioned windows influenced by English architecture. These elements are combined with an updated interior design that provides a more contemporary, comfortable and functional character.
The intervention therefore establishes a balance between tradition and contemporary living, preserving the original character of the apartment while incorporating the necessary improvements to create a brighter and more comfortable home, adapted to its new use as holiday accommodation.
